I’m off to Israel and Jordan in May…I hope my friends keep getting married in cool places!

Ithaca, NY, the first week of July, for my cousin’s wedding. Then possibly Montreal for a weekend, then Copenhagen (and other, yet-to-be-determined parts of Europe) in August. And then I must get back to work. Bleah.

Just back from Ireland and Scotland, off to Chicago and Milwaukee this month, Chicago and Boston in April. Too busy traveling to look for a job…

Here I come! Leaving tomorrow, going to visit friends for a week. I could get used to this unemployed thing.

Had one of those mornings where I woke up and didn’t know where I was. In the past 4 days I’ve slept at my mom’s in DC, at home in Ann Arbor, at my sister’s in Chicago, and at a friend’s place in Chicago. Tomorrow I’m heading up to Milwaukee to see some friends and to confuse my waking self even more!

1. I don’t have to do laundry first—can pack dirty clothes and wash them there!
2. There’s always something to do in the Washington D.C. area: museums, Capitol Steps concerts, plays at the Kennedy Center, heckling Congress…
3. And lots of good restaurants.
4. Dean & Deluca’s in Georgetown.
5. She’s always got some mighty fine wine. And it’s fun to drink wine with my mom.
6. Did I mention the restaurants?
7. I get to sleep in my old bed, which she won’t let me have, because she says it’s her old bed too, and besides it’s only a twin and I occasionally want, um, more room than that. But it’s a lovely bed.

I head out there on Thursday night!

Well, maybe not ALL the time…but I just got laid off! With a decent severance package! I’m already planning on San Fran, Ireland and perhaps Scotland in the next two months…

I actually have my tickets for Christmas a month ahead of time. This could be a record. Going to Mom’s in D.C. and I figured I should take care of it this week, because by the time I get back from INDIA (woo hoo!), there’ll be only 2 weeks until Christmas. It’s always good to see the family, but it’s a bonus that Mom lives in a cool place to visit, too.

I leave for India in a week and a half, and I just bought my tickets for Ireland in February. (“Why go to Ireland in February?” you might ask. “Won’t it be cold and raining?” Why yes it will, but it’s a dirt cheap flight and there’ll be a music festival in Killarney.)
