organize a 43Things meetup in Atlanta

I subscribed, or whatever, to this goal because I wanted to get the emails about said meetups. But hoestly I have no interest in helping organize the things. Although back when I was trying to attend meetups my presence seemed to be the kiss of death so maybe the thing I can do to ensure the success of a meet is stay home. I’m not being sulky, it’s hilarious. You’re welcome dudes.

I said I’d show up and I sure didn’t. I thought about posting “uh sorry something came up” but that would make me not only a jerk but a LYING jerk. Plus maybe some of you saw me and I’ll meet you properly at some point and then I’ll be in trouble. Anyway. I made it to the actual Java Monkey on Sun. but by that point my whole morning had been eaten by an unexpected unavoidable social thing and it was cold out and I was frustrated and really needed to go home and do Christmas stuff. Plus I had no idea who was who and almost made the mistake of asking the table of D&D meetup if they were 43. And then I would have been in their clutches. In the adrenaline of that near-miss I decided to say fuck it and go home. That is the true and fascinating saga of why I did not show. But you seem like charming people so I hope to be there next time. And everybody needs to wear a red hat or something for crying out loud.
