Starting from scratch 3 months ago

I used to have a pretty good amount saved, but that went all to heck so I have to start over again. If only I could put away that 40 every two weeks I’d have this done in a year. When I get paid this friday I will put 20 in my other checking acct and not touch it.

Going to start on this 3 months ago

If I put away $40 every two weeks it should only take me 6 months to do this. Time to get started. I’m going to also be saving for a trip to south bend so we’ll have to see if this one is feasible right now or if I’ll have to wait until after October to start.

wishing for another amazing check.. 15 months ago

Sigh, so college classes started back up. Um. Yay? That meant tuition and books had to be paid for so my check was pretty much gone after that. I mean just books alone costed me $657. After that I had to go get my car worked on for the 100,000 mile check. That costed around 600 so I’m in the process of saving that so I can pay off the credit card bill this month. I’m only 100-200 away from having that though and I get paid 200 this friday so I’m in the clear. Saving $1000 has been put on hold though because I am about to move out. We are almost finished with the house so it’s just a matter of days now. This means I’ll have no money at all to save. lol. I’ll start back on this in October. Hopefully I can still save some money along the way though.

Doing well this month 16 months ago

My last check was amazing because I had a lot of overtime and it was our bonus check! I was very excited lol. I went to the bank yesterday and here are the totals. (not exact because they are in the car at the moment, but close)

Checking 1- $296.00
Checking 2- $1024.00
Savings- $1284.00

But I know I’ve spent around 80 or 90 so far so checking 2 is probably more around the 960’s right now. I’ll check and update with the real numbers soon. At least I was over 1000 for a few hours lol.

The goal 17 months ago

So I sat down today and realized that in a few months I will be on my own. This made me realize that I need to buckle down on my save money goal and start saving. Heres the requirements I have to meet before I can call this one complete. I must have $1,000 in BOTH of my checking accounts. That way I can withdrawl 500 from each and put that away in a safety deposit box for a rainy day or for bills. A secondary requirement is to have $150 dollars in change. I’m already pretty close on this one, but change takes longer to build up so it will still take quite a while to get there. With that being said heres the numbers.

CA 1- 308.75
CA 2- 400.00
wrapped coins- 79.00

Bonus! 2 years ago

Came to find out that we met bonus a few weeks back and it is coming in this paycheck. I am very excited and today’s payday! I have no clue what I will actually be getting, but it will definitely be helpful to have. I doubt it will get me anywhere near the completion of this goal, but it will help as Christmas approaches. I’m going to get my checking at a steady 500, put 350 to the side for christmas presents, and let the rest go to my tuition which will be due sometime in december I think. I still have a lot to save for that. I doubt I will have any left to add to my trip to Italy for softball, but we’ll see. Once that is done I will start trying to get my checking to the 1,000 I need to set aside for savings!
Goodluck everyone!

building back up 2 years ago

Last big buy until christmas is coming when I have to pay 120 for my passport. After that then the building back up can continue. I’ve got around 280 in there right now. Minus the 120 I’ll be at 160 then on friday I get paid again so I’ll leave that to build my checking back up. Once I get that back up above 500 I’ll start splitting up my checks half and half for checking and savings. Lets see how this goes.

On hold 2 years ago

Well I was just offered a chance of a lifetime. I am one of 90 people that is going to play softball internationally for two weeks in May. I chose to go to Italy for the trip and have to raise around $4,000. This means most of my money I’m saving to add to my goal of save $1,000 is going to this incase I cannot fund raise some of the money. I’m hoping this works out to where most of my personal money can be left for this goal, but you never know. Thats not the only thing I must save for either. I also have to save for a spring break softball trip with my college team. It’s not optional lol so I have to raise that. It should be about $400. Which I have, but need to put away. I think that is the main things I have to focus on saving for and just think Christmas is on the way. I’m going to have to make a budget and stick to it this year. Then maybe I can have this 1,000 goal emergency fund checked off. Goodluck everyone and wish me luck.

adding up again finally 2 years ago

A lot of stuff came up this past week which brought me down to 125.00 or so for this goal. I even have a new addition to my house. A new kitten named roadkill. He was in the middle of the road and I almost hit him. No one in the area would claim him so I took him in. He definitely is not cheap. I’ve already spent 80.00 or so for the week I’ve had him. Plus I have another costly vet appointment coming up for his first shots. His coming was perfect timing however and he truly is a blessing. A couple days ago I also went through all the change in my house and ended up with 72.50. Which is close to what I paid for him so it didn’t hurt too bad. I also had not cashed my paycheck from the other week which added another 300 to my checking and I recieved 200 this week. So right now I’m roughly at 650 for this goal. I’m hoping to complete this one by the end of the year at the latest. I’ll update with the exact total another day. Good luck everyone.

Going up 2 years ago

So last time I updated I had about 309.00 left in my checking after school books and other expenses. That was on 8/24. Now I have managed to get that back up a bit to 487.27. I get paid this coming week so I’m hoping I can have that up to around 700.00 with that check, but it just depends on how much I am able not to spend. I have to have that 400.00 in there or it definitely won’t happen till the week after so lets see. I shouldn’t have to spend that much this week, but you never know.

Starting: 0.00 6/11/07
July check point: 747.00 7/27/07
August Check point: 957.00 8/2/07
August: 309.00 8/24/07
September check point: 487.27 9/10/07
