Big Mac versus Vegetarian 1 year ago

Ok, I’m not doing very good. Today I opted to go vegetarian at Cosi and I had:

  • Cosi TBM + Cosi Potato Chips = 879 cal, 51g Fat, 1174mg Sodium, 7g Fiber
Compared with my Big Mac baseline:
  • Big Mac + Med Fry= 950 cal, 51g Fat, 1230mg Sodium, 8g Fiber

Still not a huge difference. Time to start planning tomorrow.

Alright, I have to confess that I enjoy a McDonalds Big Mac and fries, but surely you can’t eat that everyday. That would be near suicide, right?
Well, I decided to compare the posterchild of unhealthy eating next to some other options I have consumed over the past as lunch alternatives, so let’s start with the basic facts:

  • Big Mac + Med Fry= 950 cal, 51g Fat, 1230mg Sodium, 8g Fiber
  • Cosi Signature Salad (w/dressing) + Bread = 948 cal, 55g Fat, 1489mg Sodium, 10g Fiber
  • Panda Express (2 entree meal): Orange Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Fried Rice = 1150 cal, 50g Fat, 2010mg Sodium, 12g Fiber
  • Chipotle Chicken Burrito Bol: 859 cal, 38g Fat, 2375mg Sodium, 2g Fiber

Not a huge difference really. I guess I’ll need to keep searching for other enjoyable alternatives.

Also, it only took me about 10 seconds to find this information on McDonald’s site. All the others, I had to navigate through a maze and test my arithmetic.
