Although I’d like to learn more and stay in practice… for now, I’m putting any of those future goals on hold. I can understand basic Java and thats good enough for now

So I finished the summer class with a B and I am now a grader for CS111. This is a good and bad thing. Good: I get to compare myself to others and I’ve realized how much I deserved that B – I’m not guite an A, but I’m not bad at this stuff at all! Bad: Its time consuming and I’m reminded each week of the areas where I’m weakest.
I’ve also decided to put the PhD on hold, so now I have no source of motivation to keep me going.
I am rethinking the MIT thing, but i am still going forward with the learning of the computer programming.
I have registered for one class this summer and worked out a sweet deal with the professor: If I get a B or better in this class, he will hire me as a teaching assistant for next fall. Then, I get paid while I gets hands-on experiences and in-depth understanding.
Aside from the MIT fantasy, I am looking into Informatics, too. So far the University of Hawaii, Indiana University, and SUNY Buffalo programs jump out at me. We shall see….
I have decided that I want to get my PhD in Media Arts and Sciences from the MIT Media Lab. Their requirement: BE PROFICIENT IN COMPUTER PROGRAMMING. Their deadline: DECEMBER 15, 2005.
So, I will take 2 courses this summer in intro to computer sciences and then one more next fall. I hope that will be enough!
