I forgot!  — 10 months ago

We got the cheque for almost £1200 back in May. It was not a huge amount but I was advised on that forum I mentioned that I could not expect them to increase it.
The next step is to accept an offer from a firm to buy the policy for more than the surrender value. We have lots of firm offers, but I need to update the surrender value and get back to them. But before we accept one I need to get our new life policy in place. I have the forms filled out ready but as usual I keep holding back. I was going to get our lives insured for £100,000 for payment on first death. Our kids are 11 and 14 so I figure they’re not babies, and if anything happens to him I can get a job, and the money will help us out. For him, he can continue his work and the money will be useful, the kids would be ok.

Posted the claim questionnaire they sent  — 1 year ago

on Wednesday I believe it was. Asked questions about it on a forum, but some of the responses made me start feeling negative about our chances of a decent payout. I’m trying to be optimistic though, and I reckon if I didn’t add enough details all they have to do is ring me and ask.
Please keep your fingers and thumbs crossed for me x

Received letter from endowment company  — 1 year ago

Got letter back from Co-operative Insurance Society on Saturday (14th) with form in for further information.
There’s only one small section I am unsure how to answer. I’ve posted a question to a money expert forum though.
I want to get this form in the post asap!

I just posted the letter  — 1 year ago

After literally years of putting this off (procrastinating again) I have just today sent a complaint letter for our missold endowment. The cut off date is 30th June so I have hopefully left plenty of time. They say you should get a result in 8 weeks usually so fingers crossed!

I’m hoping to receive at least £6000 but it would be wonderful to get a bigger surprise. It’s been such a worry to think that the policy won’t be enough to cover the mortgage in another ten years – but I have read so many positive success stories and I am feeling much better and positive about it all.

I strongly recommend the Which? letter generator for this purpose, really made me get my arse in gear!
