4 more months till the marathon in Taipei Taiwan!! I ran 16km tonight! It was good! I can tell my speed is increasing and my breathing is working itself out for the faster runs. Yeah! Tomorrow is cross training day, either steps or bicycle!

Well this week has been an interesting one. I got sick running on Sunday, almost had heat stroke actually. Then my running partner had to work late but still wanted to go running with me so I waited until 8pm when he finally told me he couldn’t go running, so I headed to the track to just do some sprints. Then I was sick all week long plus there were two typhoons this week. So today, when the weather was beautiful, and I wasn’t so sick I went to meet my friend to run. He wasn’t there, which I thought was strange, because he wouldn’t ditch me two times in a row and not call me… but this is Taiwan, and I still haven’t figured out the whole culture thing, so I thought maybe I made him upset or something, who knows. Anyways. I called him for the billioneth time, and finally someone answered the phone. They told me that he was in a motorcycle accident on Monday night… the night he was rushing to meet me to go running=( So needless to say tonight’s run was a bit short and a bit emotional… so yeah. Be careful guys!! We may be training to run a marathon but we aren’t superheros…
do I hurt! But I feel so good… there is something sick and wrong with this picture, but I love it! Ran 10km today, 5km up hill and 5km downhill. It was hard, but I am ready to do it again next week. I do have to say I now know why runners wear running shorts, they are so comfortable and they move with you instead of sticking to you or bunching up and just looking weird. In my opinion they are totally worth buying. Keep running guys!!
running a marathon is an impossible goal. Did anyone else feel like this in the middle of their training? I have been slowly training for the last 3 months and it feels like I have made no progress at all. I’m healthier, but that doesn’t mean I could run a marathon. Blah. I had a great run yesterday, 4 miles, and felt so good afterwards! I wanted to keep running, but it was the first time out with new shoes! So I decided to keep it short. BUT tomorrow it is to a mountain and 10k! ok so this entry is a little random..
I ran the longer run today and about passed out! I normally run in the evenings because it is so hot here, but a friend wanted to go with me. Plus I forgot to drink enough water yesterday. So. I made it, 10km, but I didn’t run hard enough due to the heat. I am really disappointed in myself… All well, tomorrow is my day off, and back to the pavement on Monday…
I am so competitive and it drives me insane to have an older taiwanese man run faster than me! But I am so glad I met him, a new running partner that won’t let me slack off. This guy is li hai, that means he is really good! He has run so many marathons, triathalons, and climbed 56 flights of stairs! Insane. I don’t know if I will ever love running as much as he does. But until the marathon in December, I am going to try and learn from this crazy guy=)
Thanks guys for all the input! I am living in Taiwan and I plan on running the marathon in Taipei City in December. So if any of ya’ll happen to be in the area and want to run a marathon with me let me know!! I will for sure let all of you know how it is going. OH I met this crazy guy at the track that has been running forever and he wants to run with me and he runs fast! So I am so excited to have someone to run with! yeah!!
I decided 3 months ago I wanted to run a marathon after running for about a year and I ran a 5K and fell in love! But it is so hot in here in Taiwan, my Michigan blood isn’t used to it! Plus it is so boring to run by yourself those longer runs… and then sometimes it feels like my legs are rubber and just won’t move. BUT I have 5 more months until the marathon in Decembere, and I will do it! even if I have to crawl across the finish line!
