get lasik eye surgery

until my eyes clear up. Evidently I have a lot of irritation from contact wear. I went a whole month without wearing contacts and the eye doctor said I need to go another month, as there is still some irritation. Hopefully I’ll be able to have LASIK someday. Having to wear glasses all the time and not being able to wear contacts in the summer is not so fun. He told me to put eyedrops in at least 4x/day.

I’m going for my LASIK consultation this Wednesday to see if I may be a candidate for the procedure. My eye exam went well, as my vision seems stable. We’ll see!

My eye doctor had given me a website to learn more about LASIK correction and a center in the area. Today I went to the site and emailed them with some questions. Step #1 done! My annual eye exam is coming up in a couple of weeks, so hopefully I can inquire more about it then too. I’ve had several eye infections after wearing contacts lately, so who knows if I’ll be a good candidate at this time. We’ll have to wait and see! It’s worth a try.

I have had increasing problems with wearing contacts the past few years – more eye infections, less tolerance for contacts, having to wear them for shorter periods of time, etc. I’m sure the cost of lasik can’t be more than it would cost me for a lifetime of glasses, contacts, contact solution, eye drops, etc. Can’t wait to see if I’m a candidate for lasik someday soon! Must save more $$ first though. Other priorities.
