if i UNDERSTAND spanish fluently??

haha. the comprehension level is steadily rising, but i still cant tell a story in spanish. the best i can do is talk really simply and really dramatically to try and get a point across.

this is going to be muy dificil.
especially since i leave spain in, oh, 2 weeks!

SPAIN! 2 years ago

i think i’m going to do a 1 month language intensive in spain next year! i was going to be in europe already, so it cuts my costs to do it while i’m already there. wooooo, i am SO excited about this.

I work at a preschool, and most of the kids are from extremely well-off families. I would say about 1/3 of them already speak a second language, and probably another 1/3 will be going into language programs as Kindergarteners. Why oh why did I not learn two languages as a little kid?!? My #1 reason for wanting to be fluent in Spanish, is so I can raise my kids speaking two languages. Aghh. I need to get my butt in gear I think.

i am not doing well so far.
i took 1st year college spanish as a bit of a review, which i thought was effective, but when i went to costa rica most people spoke english to me and even when i did speak spanish it was awful and broken. boo. i was going to take 2nd semester spanish in the spring, but it had to be sacrificed to make room for other graduation requirements. bleh. maybe in the fall i can pick it up if i get the rest of my crap done in a timely manner. i am not good with language i have decided.
