i am confessing...i got to day 35...and then unraveled 9 months ago

I got to 35 days in a row, and then got super sick with bronchitis, but I am not giving up on this goal, I totally felt like keylimepies and its a freaking me outkind of goal. I was running in the garage because of the cold, and that is too much, not my kind of running, I think I need to wait till the trails open up and we don’t have 0 degree days up here in Idaho, (random thoughts but this is helping me) Also my skiing has been off the charts, I have been skate skiing and downhill skiing and its hard to get it all in. The latest race that picked my interest was the Pocatello 50 miler in May, so I could be back on this goal by the weekend.
OBTW had an awesome 2 hour run on my birthday in Jan, and it was a clean air day in Idaho, not like a few years back when I ran on a red day in SLC and my lungs hurt for days…runners need clean air, rally for it…—xojk

still running...New Years Eve... 11 months ago

Monday, Day 12, worked a long day, got in the night time on the bike path run, around 10 min, night time shuffle pace
Tuesday, Day 13, felt really good, had a PROPER RUN, 45-50 min felt fast, watch the storm front white out the golf course, couldn’t see, but the bike path was perfectly groomed, and i could run, had the run shoes on, and saw a bunch of the area, right at dusk to dark
Wednesday,12/31, Day 14… pretty drunk on beer, but got in 10 minutes of laps in the culdasac with the hilo girl and chuckit, it got me thinking I might need a winter sport, for chasing a ball, or ? asked about an indoor soccer field in the area to play ultimate frisbee, ? I just need some more connection and push and games,
maybe tennis? or ???

so keep running but may need to add some elements…

the proper jog 11 months ago

day 11, pretty sure, went for a proper run today, in run shoes, on the bike path, it was not plowed though, sunday, rest day. Felt like running in sand so went to the roads ran to the end of jupiter road and back, looked for the skin track for the back country turns, scouted a line, north facing a ridge and some trees, could be a good, dawn patrol line. Ran a total of 45 min, and felt the ski legs sieze, now doing YOGA to combat the quads…
Day 8, made it out,Christmas night,
Day 9, made it out, in sorrels, at night, COLD -6 degrees,
Day 10, 580 ft running down the country lane in Hailey, with the dog, then went back and drank more Oregon beer.

want some more proper running, get out at lunch time?—xojk

running snow report for Ketchum, ID 11 months ago

Day 5, discovered a new part of the bike path headn east, timed myself, 35 min, the trail snow was too cold for the dogs, they lifted their paws and whined at me, -20 degrees, cold, windy, night, came back to ladies wine party…loved being out though, very clear, very beautiful

Day 6, 4 min out and back, 8 total, ran in my sorrels, while Hilo carried her chuckit, the whole way. The long day at work, so glad to get out at the end of the day! this has helped me take time to step out for myself and my dog! VEry, very very, f*&^ COLD.

Day 7, Christmas eve, good thing i lost at cards, i had to blow off steam and go for a RUN…, snowfalling, the temps are warmer, running in sorrel boots, after eating a lot, this helped me get my heart rate up and see how beautiful the night was, i am loving taking time and moving, before this was NOT a run (not long enough, judgement) and i would never army jog in boots, but now i am!, this is kinda fun it is by loosening up my idea, of Running, and i am feeling better.

Day 8 today Christmas, 2.5 feet of new snow, broke trail to the bike path, with my black diamond lady tele skis, the velvet, won at cards, and hope to get out after dinner to keep my night running trend up to par…Happy Running…—xojk

Day #4, running in full ski wear, wind chill baby... 12 months ago

wind chill factor at -20 degress, my run shoes feel hard, and my toes are cold, face too. The puffy coat with 2 other layers works good, ski pants, need turtle guard with the wind. Running and walking seems to be the pace, some trail, some bike path, always with the dogs…

day 1, 45 minutes snowy trails
day 2, 45 min intervals 10 wind sprints on snowy road
day 3, 20 min, super cold, at night trail and bike path
day 4, 12.5 min super cold, trail and bike path

see if i can dial in the new diagnosis of being allergic to dairy, feel like i have turned into a vegan, without meaning to, wondering if wheat bugs me too?

ok confession 12 months ago

I started this goal but only in my own little accountability mind in case I cracked, which I did, but I ran for 10 days in a row and it felt amazing, so here it goes life seems a bit more settled now that I am in Idaho, and hilo will love this goal and Sun Valley has a May half marathon that sounds kinda fun, no better time than the present, I will have to keep track the time of running in my journal then recreate it here on 43 things since, my computer time is limited, but here it goes. I am commiting and I am open to the ups and downs the hits and misses, GAME ON! I am ready to feel the energy chi flow—xojk
