Rode in town but had a blast, the leaves are changing in the city now, scrub oak is a bright red, very electric really.
Oct 26th Route: home to Gilmer to sunnyside to upper campus to shoreline to dry creek to BOBSLED! to I-street to home. No idea on the time around 2-3 hours.
Oct 27th. Chatted with BR and said yeah let’s go ride, but show up and the single speed crusher KING is there, weirdbeared PC sushi roller, so I mention laughing “i didn’t know what i signed up for” they laughed put me at ease and say they will do what ever. We only crushed it for the first 90 minutes.
10th east-doggydooh-to 900south-foothill-zoo-far shoreline-they stop to smoke-up to gate-up to closed gate-down to creek-up to secret taratula ridge-to dry creek-shoreline-BOBSLED. No idea on time 2-3 hours. Tired didn’t know what day it was.
Had a really good time biking with BR, super sweet! chill, and a good rider, yes I am still moving and dang may have to hide out a bit. till i get up to ketchum for FOCUS.
note: use the middle ring and get after it on certain hills!

i think i had a zone moment Sunday on the bike, I was on trail 0157 in American Fork, and went out about 70 minutes along the single track rocky ridge, and the riding was tough, but on the way back something clicked, it felt like everything i went for, happened, logs were stepped up, rocks were manuevered, trees avoided. It felt like things that i wanted happened. It felt weird and fleeting, but concrete as well.
The views off this ridge trail are incredible, and people have been describing it as dusty, and rocky, and hard, but i only experienced pure bliss. Again maybe its the new tire, or maybe its the Yoga…

Ketchum has some of the best single track in the US, and I was there on a job interview, but then I race home to ride the SLC crest trail, go figure, I needed to be in SLC for some reason, my intuition saying there will be plenty of time to be in Ketchum/Sun Valley.
Of course right out of the chute I bike into the Wild Rose boys, I am heading up hill they are screaming down, M.bates,onemore-moe,denkester, and 3-5 other downhillers with full combat gear and dark clothing. I just smile with my new fashionista, plastic glasses, and just have waves of lost love sickness come over me and I count to see if superD, is with the crew. He isn’t for some reason, and I just give up the mexican coffee angst that’s driving that hollow feeling in my heart, and climb faster. I think I need to check my training logs because I got to the hairpin turn in about 53 minutes, and that’s with a short girl talk, at the stream. I thought I usually do this in 75 minutes, could I set a PR by 22 minutes?? HUM???
I know I have been bike commuting but…oh, yeah, I do have a new bike tire ;) ...
I arrive back down in one piece, and put the bike on top of the Nissan, (borrowed car for the time being) and ride to home to wash off the dirt, and put on fashion clothes for the Jordan River Parkway, cruiser ride. Basically a booze cruise, where we meet up and ride the paved bike path along an endangered urban river for a leisure out and back. I manage to only mooch one beer, and a vodka shot and laugh for 3 hours. K-ran was on the terd cycle from the wild rose, and kept locking up the bike with a huge chain suck problem, going head to head with BigJ on his cruiser, and after every mal function Dirty Dan, came to the rescue with a chain tool in hand and put her back together. The bugs seemed to have died off from the last ride 2 weeks ago, I only had 1 on my front tooth from being a happy cyclist.

how could i be in one of the most beautiful sweet single track places in the world without my bike? well, i am a bit burned out from the bike commute in SLC, that a little break feels ok. But every third car/truck has a mtn bike on it, and my heart sings there! Hiking up a mtn trail to a beautiful lake, leads to skinny dipping, and girly squeals. Thank goodness i am learning to swim well, that water was cold, i needed to swim fast!
BIKE REPORT: 5 am time trial 40 minute commute Liberty Park to Holladay PTZ studio, probably 12-13 mph on the Titus Racer X, in need of a new bike tire.

A red rock mesa west of Zion National Park, has a 4 star rating on the mtb sites. the only problem i am not in 4 star technical mtn biking shape right now, a long buff ride maybe, but tight, turns, slick rock, and bunny hops are not dialed in, maybe mid summer on a good year. right? So my Hidden Canyon Maze experience was interesting with the bike shop crew, the desert is harsh enough in reality so not sure i will go with this rowdy crew in their altered reality…

and the crew are heading to Hurricane Ridge down south, all on the single speeds and never mind that he lost the lower part of his right leg in a farm accident when he was 12. The most decorated us nordic olympic skier ever.
dang it he planted the seed, by saying single speed championships are in Napa next year,
1,500 dollahs for a new bike and the way i have been riding lately this could turned into a top 10 goal for sure…

loved my bike yesterday except
for my REAR BRAKE was making the most
annoying hissing noise for the 2 hour ride
is it a leaking tire, a grass in the disc brake pad
take the rear wheel off, put it on, take it off,
ohhhh, so noisy…can i ride today?
