Been a while 12 months ago

Well I am down to 150, only 10 more to reach this goal. I think I’m going to try for 15 more after that. I think my “healthy weight” is suppose to be around 125. I haven’t been too focused since it’s around the holidays; however, Jan 1st will be day 1 and back on track. Oh and my motivator this time: I’m getting married April 3rd. Gives me 13 weeks.

My advice for the newcomers:
1. Don’t stress!!!
2. If you don’t want to walk around the block or like that, park your car at the back of the parking lot, and when inside walk around the store and look at odds and ends, then go get what you’re there for.
3. Drink lots of water. Not only is it needed to lose weight, it gets you full and helps keep you from drinking soda and other drinks.
4. Play with the kids 30 minutes a day. You don’t have to run around like a 3 year old, just the up and down moving around helps.
5. Eat less, Drink More (water that is) Drink a glass of water 20 minutes before you eat and with your food. It’ll fill you up faster, and you’re getting the water you need.
6. Take the stairs. And if you get to where you just can’t take it anymore, go to the next available floor and ride the elevator the rest of the way up. Little by little, you’ll get to where you can take all the stairs.
7. Don’t opt out on the sweets. Try fruit instead. And if that still doesn’t help, eat but limit it. It would be terrible to go on a chocolate binge and gain it all back.

Half way 20 months ago

So I’m down to 170!! Woo Hoo!!! I’m half way there!! I know it’s going to get harder, but I’m ready for it. My next step is to watch what I eat. Make sure it’s healthy for me and to remember those 8 cups of water, gosh that’s the hardest for me. BUT I’M GOING TO DO IT…! Good luck EVERYONE!!!

And it's goin down lil by lil 21 months ago

Well I’m down to like 176 only 36 more to go!!... The workout has gotten a ‘lil easier so I’m kickin’ it up a notch this week by adding a lil bit more to the workout and changing it up. I worked hard yesterday and am lucky I had today physically off. I’ll be back at it again tomorrow.

Still with it... 21 months ago

Well I’ve took one more step. I’ve joined a gym. A bunch of us go during the afternoon for about an hour. I’ve gone 4 days so far and the scale has dropped to 180… so that’s a boost for me to keep going. I only bike, cuz the treadmill is usually taken. But I’ve done 18miles in the last four days, today will make it 24. I started at 3 then 4, 5, and yesterday 6… so I think I’ll keep it at 6 for a week or so… well wish me luck! 45 more to go!!

So I’m back to square one. I was doing pretty good, but got off track somewhere. I’ve been sick for the past week or so, so that hasn’t helped. But I’m serious about losing weight… so I am keeping a record of what I eat and how I feel each day along with other comments. I weigh… 185 right now (just weighed myself) and I’m shootin’ for 135… so 50 more pounds to go…

Keepin it goin' 23 months ago

So I’ve givin up soda (was my new year’s resolution!) And so far… it’s worked. I’m exercising and the whole 9 yards, and I even feel better. But I hopped on the scale and I’ve actually gained weight. That’s a bummer but I’m not gonna give up…

Could it be any colder? 2 years ago

I’m sure it could be colder, but for those of us who like that morning run or walk, I think we can all agree that it was a little too cold this morning. Too cold for my blood anyway. So I was a little bummed out about getting my run in this morning. So what did I do? I ran the length of my house back and forth for 30 minutes. Ha. Same effect, just no frozen sweat by the time I was done. =p

Question of the day 2 years ago

Well here goes day one. I waited until after my birthday, so now it’s time to stop procrastinating and get on with it! Question of the day: How often and how long should I exercise a day/week, and does it count if I split it up into intervals. EX: Say it’s an hour a day. If I exercise 15 minutes at a time, does it still count? Thanks.

New to the group 2 years ago

So here’s my story. I’m the type of person who does not like to look at a scale. I would say I weigh close to 200 pounds. I’m shooting to lose at least 60 pounds by the first week of May because I will be graduating from college and my son from Kindergarten. I am wanting to take graduating pictures together, but refuse to right now because of the weight I am. So that is my motivator. I do have one question… I live in the country so going to the gym is almost impossible because of the drive. Does anyone know of any exercises for the home that I can do?
