Tomorrow (or is it today?) I will be investing in a new pair of rollerblades since the pair I currently own, as I discovered upon unearthing them, I’ve had for about ten years and are just plain whack due to their age. Who knows what crazy innovations have spring up within ten years in the realm of inline skating?
While I know rollerblading doesn’t suffice for a good old fasioned workout such as stretching or daily situps, I feel this is hopefully the first step in perhaps making me a slightly more active person. I guess the fact that I get to do it with close friends provides a strong sense of motivation as opposed to doing it myself.
And so, off to The Sports Authority I go tomorrow!

I’ve attempted several times throughout my life to exercise on a regular basis but alas, like most people, I do it for a few days and then give up. Let’s face it: it’s a whole lot easier to be inactive and lethargic and sit in front of the computer all day than have to exert yourself physically. Obviously, people who exercise consistently live much better lives. It just seems that for someone who’s not into sports and such like myself, it seems like an arduous task.
My friend invited me to go rollerblading with him on Wednesday evenings and my family is always inviting me to go walking and take my pet(s) along. I plan to take up my friend on the rollerblading thing and see how that goes. I don’t know how long I’ll do it but it’s certainly a way to get back into it. We’ll see what happens. Perhaps I need some other forms of motivation.
