Due to my life experiences, I’ve noticed that all my writing tends to be dark, depressing, and well pretty much gloomy. Not that it’s bad, but there’s never a positive, happy, or otherwise inspiring message behind anything I write.
I tend to focus a lot on human behavior and emotions and I always come up with these things with unhappy endings. The way I see it, writing something dark and gloomy (if that’s one’s forté), is great but for someone who likes to think of himself as a positive, live life to the fullest kind of person, I’d like to try something new.
I’ve attempted writing something positive and inspiring but the words came out forced and sounded very juvenile. I’ve tried several times so I decided I’d stick with what I do best which is the dark ang gloomy stuff. However, a friend of mine showed me this piece of abstract art he did and lo and behold, I was suddenly filled with all these uplifting words that I’ve yet to put to paper.
I guess I’ll have to see if abstract art is the muse that triggers the do gooder in me.
