get a job

I have been living in a small town for the last few years, and there is absolutly no jobs for any high tech training. I was a software engineer for over 20 years on Vax / Dec equipment, but in the south it is dead. I want to live in the south but for that system there is no call for jobs. I have tried car sales (12 cars in 4 months got layed off), and have been a state corrections officer (until two went after each other with knives and got blood all over, decided that job wasn’t for me). Just can’t find my nich. Have recently applied for a sales job at the local department store, maybe that will come thru. Right now trying to run a web site to pull in some income (6 up and running now), but that isn’t paying off to well right now either. Getting traffic from having good information with all the junk sites out there is getting harder and harder.
