Today I wrote 28 pages, finishing the main action of the first volume. Yes, there’s rewrites, fiddling, translations – not to mention the reveal pages about the other plot line – but I solved some major problems and now I can totally see how it’s gonna play out.
Good thing too, since our next meeting with the publisher is in the fourteenth.

Oh. My. God. The publisher is shopping us at fairs, and apparently there’s interest in at least three other markets. (Good thing, since ours is very small). It’s becoming increasingly important to finish on time. stress

We have weekly work meetings now. That means that even if I haven’t had time do ANYTHING during the week, for that afternoon at least I’ll be getting stuff done.
I’m writing episode three while Rama is drawing Ep one and storyboarding ep two… And her publisher has expressed interest in the project. Yea!

We were finally in the same country, the artist and I. She just released her first graphic novel in Finland and could tell me stories from the publicity tour. I cooked dinner. Then we talked about OH and decided to expand the 12-page intro into a 20-page first episode. It’s set in a high school, and we want to do ‘years’, and we’ve now tentatively settled on a structure…
The stuff is just pouring out of me though. It’s weird. There’s nothing of the usual struggle going on. The scope doesn’t bug me either – it’s no different from, say, writing an rpg campaign for a large number of players.
If only writing the Book that I’m SUPPOSED to be doing would be as pleasurable.
