stealth thank you's 3 years ago

It’s a little awkward to thank some one “just because.”

I just learned that one of my friends redid his website, so I sent him a “great job” note and included a small thanks.

I am sure the sentiment came through.

Thank You 3 years ago

It seems that I am geting a lot of cheers on this goal which is very encouraging.

I read recently that Americans actually have less friends now than several years ago – this despite all of the technology that is supposed to help keep us together. How true.

While I have made some 43things friends, and a crush or three, there is a major difference between relationships like this and those that are made in person. Not that I do not value the ones I have made, and am making here, but I want to keep the ones I have made in person strong.

Besides thank you notes for ‘whatever’ I do plan on sending more cards for holidays to keep in touch with my friends in San Diego. It’s a bit goofy, especially for a guy, but what the heck, even the editors of Men’s Health say that men with strong relationships are healthy. (So I can always use the “I’d doing this for my health” excuse!)

The Substitute 3 years ago

Our priest was on vacation last week and the priest associate led Sunday’s worship. It was great, but like most churches, when the regular priest is gone, very few people show up.

(Uh, people, we’re here to worship God, not the priest. But that’s a different subject)

It must really suck to see that more than half the congregation didn’t show that week. Anyhow, I thought the service ran well, sermon was great, and really thought it was important to send a thank you note if for no other reason to let someone know they are appreciated.

Happy Thank-You Writing….

Even though my goal is “real” Thank You notes, thanks for the cheers on this goal AND the comment. :)

a business opportunity.... 3 years ago

....as I am putting together our company I will definitely be sure to have at least some Thank You cards available. Most of the stuff I have seen in stores is pretty bland, so there is a definite need out there.

Emails are fine but having a piece of paper in hand means so much more. So I am going to write thank you notes more often, not jsut for gifts, but for actions. There is no reason why I can’t write a thank you letter to a Congressperson for supporting something I believe in, or to my Priest for a sermon that opened my eyes, or a “how ya doing” note to one of my friends that conveys how thankful I am for their friendship. Funny thing is that note-writing is not considered a “guy thing” in this day and age. Hmmmm, Guess I have an 18th Century brain in my 21st Century head.
