LOTS of new and fulfilling things happened over the last three months – and things go so busy I didn’t document them as they happened. (that’s good right?)
Making a difference. Volunteering at the soup kitchen (where we actually do spaghetti and meatballs) was new and fulfilling for sure. It even led to volunterring on Thanksgiving Day whereby a real Thanksgiving Dinner was made from scratch.
Expanding my horizons. I attended a workshop offered by a professional storyteller and came away with both new knowledge plus greater awareness of my storytelling ability.
Something for nothing. Keeping with my holiday tradition, I worked part time at Williams Sonoma for the run up to Christmas. The money is nothing, but a 40% discount is something fantastic! (and I got that awesome deal on my espresso machine) The other big benefit is that I got out from behind a desk – spending time on my feet was great – all you freelance types should definitly consider it. Heck, anyone who just bought a house and needs to furnish it should consider a position like this.
Eggs in many baskets. Pumping the money earned in the run up to Christmas into expansion has opened up several new categories for me. Expanding, and not having all my eggs in one basket has already made the post-Christmas season quite profitable.
New hair. I discovered that one of the members of my church has her own salon and have become a regular. Now Queen Latifah had espresso in her salon in Beauty Shop, Donna has merlot. Now I still bow to the queen, but but merlot wows me just a little more.
Blogging. I have been able to blog on a fairly regular basis, the blog has existed for quite some time, but now its become a habit : not really new but definitely fulfilling.
Let’s see what new and fulfilling things happen in January February and March !

we’re already getting a lot of activity on the new and fulfilling January, February, March 2008 goal and there are about 80 fewer people on that goal
why not cheat a bit and make YOUR new and fulfilling December thing adopting the Jan-Feb-Mar goal ?
(( yes, we need teammates over there ))
Drop me a line if you need an invite to that team. Cheers!

I have to “back-post” all of the new and fulfilling things that I did in the last three months – ARGH !
Of course today someone did call me an “internet celebrity” – THAT trumps anything else that I did or will do.

It’s that time to start set our intention of having new and fulfilling experiences after December 31 by adopting a new goal!
As many of our friends on this goal are in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand where it’s summer now, it only makes sense to call the new goal enjoy the first quarter of 2008 by having one new and fulfilling experience in January, February, and March
Team invites will be going our shortly!

I attended a lecture given by a professional storyteller – it was fantastic and I was able to see myself in his role. Now I just have to get some of my ducks in a row to get to that place. In the meantime I am keeping a journal with me to jot down anecdotes as they cross through my day – never know when something worth sharing will be enter my life…

After approaching the manager of the local Williams-Sonoma about donating food items for the food programs sponsored by my church, I was overwhelmed with the bounty! The boot and rear seat of the Accord were filled with all of the extra food that was to be used for sampling prior to Thanksgiving. Had I not asked, all of it would have been put in the rubbish bin, instead it will be used to where it can do some real good! (Of course Jeero thinks the cranberry relish is for him)

Spotting one of Malc’s photos on the “In Pictures” section of the BBC! Brilliant!
I grabbed the pic from the BBC site here, but suggest that you click the link and give Malc a Cheer or Three !

This goal is about New And Fulfilling – not Bold and Over-The-Top. I’m curious about why some people on this goal have not posted or given up : I venture to guess they mistook this goal as being about BIG things.
Sure, I want to hear about how you disarmed a crazed gunman, who spoke only Arowak, at the Peace Talks, in a Romanian Castle, all the while not spilling your martini, but its the other new and fulfilling things we want to hear about : coloring for the first time in 20 years, or discovering how to make lemon sorbet, or finding a new mountian bike trail, or planting bulbs for the first time. Those are the new and fulfilling things that make ordinary days extraordinary – and they are the new and fulfilling things we most often overlook.
So how about an entry or two ?
