One thing that would help with this is knowing all the instruments

I notice that the real musicians, the ones who gig, can get by on basically any instrument. Of course, the drums are a whole nother thing but I would venture a guess that the guitarist can often at least lay down a basic rhythm. I’d like to get good at guitar and keyboards and be able to get by on bass. My singing is OK but it probably wouldn’t hurt me to take voice lessons, either.

Because doesn't everyone want to be in a band with me?

Who wouldn’t want to be in a band with a 35 year old daddy type like me? I can play the guitar, although I haven’t touched the thing in months. I can also sing. I have decent relative pitch and pretty good natural harmony. Also, I really like rock music. Like, really.
