I think Mental Compost is living up to its name!
I have other priorities right now. As with other completed goals, I may reopen this some other time.
I wrote a provocative post called, Eleven point plan for eliminating the private automobile
And so I now return with advice for those who want more people to read their blogs: write something that really bugs people, that a lot of people really, deeply disagree with. In my case, my blog post was picked up by Jalopnik and suddenly all hell broke loose! A thousand new visitors in four days.
Well, anyway, it’s been fun. It’s been amusing to see the kind of person people imagine me to be and I’ve gotten into some interesting debates too. This is causing me to refine my ideas and it keeps me on my toes, intellectually. Now that I’ve gotten a lot of people to read my blog, I want even more people to read my blog! In the words of Tom Lehrer, “More, more, I’m still not satisfied!”
I’m going to have to blog more often. On the other hand, if everyone were feed-savvy, it wouldn’t really matter how often I (or anyone else) blogged. I subscribe to a lot of infrequently updated blogs. When a new entry arrives, it’s actually a refreshing change from the regular daily stuff.
Right now I have three blogs: one for my musings on technology, one for “serious” essays on the future, and one for more personal stuff. Maybe they should be folded into a single blog. I’m not sure.
It’s called Meat Stream, and is inspired by a phrase I heard on public radio yesterday.
