I used to meditate for a short period of time each morning in silence, focusing on my breath, as a way to center myself before starting the day. Recently however, I’ve been listening to guided meditation podcasts in the evenings before bed and I’ve been finding it helpful for relaxing and falling asleep easier. I’m enjoying the mix of both, and it is nice trying something new.

I am marking this done, because I realize that has become part of my daily routine, and I’m confident that it will continue to be. I hadn’t made a conscious decision to really pursue completing this goal, but lately its really clicked for me. I would still like to learn more about meditation,become better at quieting my thoughts, and be able to meditate longer, so I still have a long way to go. But as far as incorporating into my life every day, I would say this goal is done.

It’s funny, I’m usually much better about doing this when I’m also good about stretching every day. I haven’t been making a deliberate effort to make sure I meditate each morning, but I’ve been finding myself wanting to take the time to this. Something about taking care of my body want me to also take care of my mind.I just spend five minutes, I have a hard time doing longer than that. But I do find it helpful, so hopefully I will keep it up.



Now more than ever 2 years ago

When I first set this goal, I set out to do this just five minutes a day. And for a while I was meditating most mornings, just for that short bit of time. I found it did help me stay more calm.

But now I haven’t done this in weeks, and I need to do this more than ever. It is just so hard to quiet my mind, even for a tiny tiny bit.
