more thoughts

So I feel kind of silly getting all mushy on the internet, but oh well. This fall I also began a relationship that is both new and fulfilling, so I thought its worth mentioning. :)
I also got to explore some new skills at work and I’m becoming a bit more social with my co-workers, (even though I’m still pretty shy there).
I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s entries abut this goal, and I’ve enjoyed thinking about my life and activities in these terms. I’m looking forward to more new and fulfilling in the first quarter of 2008.

I played my first game of Settlers of Catan this month. I can tell this will become a favorite game. :)

I already listed an entry for November, but I wanted to add another one. I played my first game of racquetball today, and as predicted, I was pretty terrible, but I had some good fun. I feel like I could improve my skills if I played some more. I’ve never been very sporty; I’m usually the type of person who declines doing anything athletic because I think I’ll be bad at it… but as the woman at the counter of the racquetball place said “You gotta crawl before you can walk”. I had a good time, and I hope to do this again.

Beadwork has been a part of my life for eight years now, and I’m realizing that its something I’m always going to return to, even if I don’t do it for months at a time.
After years of teaching beadwork lessons, I took one this November. I’m making an bead embroidered bracelet, which is something I’ve been wanting to learn to do for years. Its two sessions, and the next one is this Sunday. I have to finish up adding my beads so I can learn to put a leather backing and a clasp on my bracelet. Fun!

I started tutoring at the community college I go to today. As expected, it wasn’t perfectly smooth—I feel like I’ll get better as I go along. I had one student, so that was good that someone came in, but also good I didn’t get swamped.
I feel really busy, but I’m glad I made time to do this.
