I can’t write music, so that automatically makes it harder for me to compose a song. Songwriting has always intrigued me, but whenever I try, I just can’t get any words down. Maybe it’s because I’m not used to writing rhyming poetry, maybe because my own standards of myself are too high.
But I’d really like to write a song - at least one - with substance in the lyrics. Something religious or inspirational maybe.
Having the music ready automatically makes songwriting easier, so maybe I should start by putting words to a melody that’s already in use.
I’m aiming to cross this one off my list by March of 2006.
