see a game at each Major League Baseball stadium

This is my hometown team now, so I was super psyched that we got a new park. It’s absolutely beautiful. If only the team made it worth going to see them… they lost 10-2 yesterday when I went to the game. They’ve have a pretty horrible start to the year, but hopefully things start looking up!

So I made it to the home of the Detroit Tigers and not only did i get to add a new stadium to my list, but it was Opening Day! So it was even more special. The stadium is really awesome, it’s fairly new and they’ve got all kinds of fun stuff to do (besides you know, watch the game). There’s a baseball ferris wheel, a carousel with Tigers instead of horses, a huge food court, several shops, lots of decks with tables. a good time was had by all, even though the home team lost.

And oh my goodness, I forgot to add RFK! I went to a National’s game back in May of ‘06 and didn’t add it. That stadium isn’t that great. It’s old and I think it’s really a soccer stadium. But I’ll give them a break since they’re a new team. ;)

I moved out to Califonia, and was fortunate to become friends with baseball fans. We’ve been to Angel’s Stadium and Dodger’s Stadium. If I had to pick, I’d pick Dodger’s stadium because it’s so old and has a really great feel to it.. good baseball atmosphere. Angel’s stadium is really cool too, but in a really corporate, disney kind of way. So for a recap… Great American Ballpark (and before that my beloved Riverfront Stadium), PNC Park, Ameriquest Field, Shea Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Angel Stadium and Dodger Stadium. The next stadium I’ll hit will hopefully be PETCO sometime this summer.

i went to PNC park in Pittsburgh on Sunday to see the Reds @ the Pirates. It was a good game, my Reds won! PNC park is beautiful, right by the river. I think that stadiums by the water are by far the best.

I’ve only got a few: Great American Ballpark (and before that Riverfront/Cinergy); The Ballpark in Arlington (or whatever it’s called now); Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium.

I’m hoping to get to the rest of the east coast stadiums this year!
