write more love letters

The card said “I love being married to you.”

I’m a 140 character spreader of love.

I love this goal. Maybe I can write a little love letter to this goal on here. But I’m lagging on actually writing the love letters that matter.

Sent a cryptic note this AM.

Mother’s Day was last Sunday and I sent my wife the best love letter I could for a beautiful mother of 3. She got to sleep in while I herded kids until 11:30 and then we took her out for brunch. It was a sweet day, with lots of love from the kids for their mom, and enough time for the two of us to spend together to make it count. I love you Anne, you are a great Mother, and most beautiful to boot.

I’m finding time to write love letters lately. Sometimes good old fashioned pen on paper love letters and sometime new fangled text message love letters. My daughter and I are even sending email love letters. I am in love with love letters. When was the last time you sent one? It is a low risk high reward activity.

Finally – I seized the moment on Friday and jotted out a love letter! It was a special day.

It being Valentine’s Day, it would be apt to write a love letter today. I think I can make this happen. I’m going to give cards to my daughters as well. And buy some sweets.

I had some time in the car this weekend while my daughter had fallen asleep in her car seat. I had pen and paper at hand and wrote Anne a love letter. Her birthday is today, so it was a good time to reflect on how much I love her.

I think I’ll try to get to 10 this year before calling this goal “done”.
