to make a difference in a young person's life

This one is actually a young person making a difference in my life. I haven’t met my next door neighbors, but I know they have kids. This afternoon I was in the driveway picking up some wandering trash, and the boys next door showed up at their fence to attend to their dog. The oldest couldn’t have been over 10. They said “hello, how are you? Nice to meet you. Have a good day.” So polite and well mannered. So shocking to see these days. I wish I had taken more time to talk to them, but I was really shocked. I vow next time to spend at least 5 minutes getting to know them better.
