stop shopping at wal-mart

I STILL haven’t shopped at Wal-Mart. I haven’t even set foot in the place. It’s not difficult to do! Just avoid and triumph:)

my one year anniversary of not setting foot in a Wal-Mart. I still go to Target sometimes, even though I’d rather not, but I’m just taking this one step at a time.

I have another thought that’s been rolling around in my head for awhile… Why just Wal-Mart? Isn’t Wal-Mart nothing more than the scapegoat for the thousands of other super-organizations that we should also oppose in principle? This is the short list that occurs to me at the moment: Sam’s, Kmart, Target, Dick’s, Best Buy, Staples, Office Max, Khols, Value City, Petsmart…

I mean…I could go on…but my point is this: shouldn’t we be taking up this battle against more than just Wal-Mart?

I’ve been able to avoid setting food in the building. I can’t stop my family, but I don’t encourage it.

until I am financially solvent. I don’t know, though, maybe? Christmas comes to mind. Perhaps this year at least I can go out of my way to buy unique gifts from non-Wal-Mart places. I’ll at least try.
