Get Democrats elected to Congress in 2006

I just found out yesterday that the Zach Wamp, the representative from my neighboring district (also the district I grew up in) will be running for the Majority Whip position. He already wins reelection by obscene margins, and I can’t imagine how hard it would be to get him out of office if he becomes the majority whip. Thank goodness for Harold Ford, Jr., in the senate race this year. At least we’ll have a fighting chance to win that race.

I live in a district where our Representative has been in office since 1988 and in the district next to us he’s been in since 1994. They’ve pretty much run unopposed in the past few elections. Any suggestions about how I can help find a serious candidate to run or what we can do? Oh and did I forget to mention that I live in East Tennessee, it’s been a Republican stronghold since the Civil War. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
