Eleven months since the last update and $2118.48 has been knocked off the balance.
Chip, chip, chipping away.
It’s still so far from being done, but it is nice to see the number dropping. Just a couple of months from being under $30,000. That’ll feel good. So will not having this debt, but one thing at a time.

This is going to take a long, long time, but over the last 9 months I’ve removed $1622.07 from the balance. Just sent in another payment tonight. Won’t be too long until I’m under $30,000 for the first time.

Last eight months $1341.82 has come off the balance. Slow, but it’s coming down.

I think the payments are hitting the balance more than the interest now, because in four months $732.36 has hit the balance. (compare this to $866 in 7 months)

I really can’t wait until I’m able to focus my debt repayments to the student loan. In the last seven months I have paid $866.40 off the balance.
This is so gradual.

Minimum payments are a suck, only $1000 off the loan in 7 months.
On the other hand, we’re making great progress on the other debts, which means that when the student loan is the last one left…baby, it’s going down.

Wow. Interest really slows things down. Only $665.10 off the balance in the last 8 months.

I would love to make more than the minimum payment, but I have consumer debt that needs to be taken care of first.
With that said, every time I break a new $1000 mark it feels good. It feels slow, but it feels good to have passed $39,000.
Whenever the consumer debt is paid off I can start making larger payments to the student loans. Oh, it would feel so good to get this debt eliminated.

Doesn’t feel like I’ve made much progress on this since I still have some $39k left, but I have paid off several grand so far. My focus is on the rest of my debt first since there is a payoff date at the end of the tunnel (when i’m 42…, though I overpaid the debt when I first started paying, so it might be 41 by now)
