I had my first pain free run in months. I found a stretch that’s supposed to help with the pain in my knee and it worked yesterday. Gotta keep up with the stretch because I am woefully out of shape…but it didn’t hurt, and that’s a major step.

I’ve been getting more runs in, but I’m still getting some of that pain in my knee. I went three miles yesterday and it was fine for the first 2.5 and then that last half mile was mostly walking…not because I was tired, but because it hurt too much.
I can’t mark this as complete until I know that I’m good to go…but I’ve been running more often…just not flawlessly.
Went for a run on sunday, short, and it felt good though I had a hint of knee pain. Ran yesterday with my wife, slow pace, felt good. Ran this evening, not long, felt good.
I think I need a new lacing strategy because the soles of my feet were burning! But, no knee pain and I ran!!!!!
It was my birthday this past tuesday (March 6) and I knew because it fell on a work day the birthday would be a two parter. Little bit of something on tuesday, more on saturday (today!)
My wife and I got up moderately early, took care of the dog, and we went out to start the day. She had me put on a blindfold and then sunglasses and we went for a drive. When we stopped she had me open a card and don’t look up. Inside the card was a gift certificate to my favorite running store: Marathon Sports.
Suffice it to say that I have a new pair of running shoes: New Balance 767’s (the Brooks Adrenaline were not in stock and I’ve had good luck with this line of New Balance).
So, first run: Tomorrow!
The new shoes should clear up my joint issues with the old shoes.
Now that it is getting warmer in Minnesota I expect to be walking my dog more outside and I’ll try to run a little then. But, the key is still getting a new pair of shoes, which as of today, I still don’t have because we owe taxes.
After the marathon in May my running went downhill. I felt sluggish and then things started hurting and I can’t run without pain in my knee. I’m planning on getting new shoes in a week or two and hopefully that will help.
I need to get running again. Here’s seeing if I can.
