I spent my entire morning/afternoon/evening cleaning and organizing our suite here in Bennett Hall so that it’d be presentable for a prospective student who was attending the Ottawa University sleepover. I went to the Student Union to pick him up as scheduled, and out of the corner of my eye, I notice this quiet white kid, with blue eyes and a blonde afro, and I think “man, he’s the kind of student we need… I bet he’s interesting. Maybe we’d have a lot in common. Hey! maybe he’s the kid I’m hosting.”
I go in and subject myself to this ridiculous comedy routine that in no way portrays why Ottawa is worth coming to, other than we hire pointless preformers as means to lure in potential students… And I see said blonde afro kid sitting at this table with a man with large eyes, and an old woman. It didn’t quite make sense to me. So I sat alone, at my table, waiting for someone to come to me. And no one ever did. I got up to get hot chocolate, and I came back and found some other kids from Colorado had taken my table, but I was okay with it because they were all really kind. One wanted to do Ethnic Relations, one Engineering and one Accounting.
Later on in the ridiculous comedy act, I notice that blonde afro kid is gone. He and his mother both had left. So, I wish the African American Coloradan students goodbye, and go to find blonde kid.
I spoke with some Admissions personnel asking if he’d left, and they didn’t think so. I said that I didn’t see him in there anywhere, and I described him to them. They told me his name was Corey Alexander.
So my assumption is that Corey Alexander was equally unriveted in the comedy act, and left, with no intentions of ever attending Ottawa University because it appeared as lame as can be.
This upsets me, because I’m supposed to attempt to catch him tomorrow morning for breakfast at 8:15, but I can almost guarantee myself that he won’t be there, because he has written Ottawa University off his list.
I am so frustrated. I hope he shows up.
