I was bitching last week (there is no manly way to put it) about not going to the 311 concert at Memorial Auditorium March 17th. I had to work, and then the show was sold out before I could stop procrastinating.
311 is one of my favorite bands. They came to Burlington once, in 2001 (I think), and I did see them at that show. It was amazing! So when I was complaining to my wife about not being able to go, she pointed out that she has never been to a concert! (Except in High School, a band called The Edge, not one of her favorite bands by any means.)
That floored me! Never been to a show? Never seen any of the musicians she loves in person? It is a horrific shame to not take advantage of such a thing! I have seen many of my favorites live, although not as many as most people.
I can not let this continue! My wife must see a concert, even if that means I have to force myself to attend a country show!!!
We are going to shoot for whomever is playing at the Champlain Valley Fair. I know she will try to back out, but that is my goal, and I have to allow her to have this experience!
