the other thing i love is water with a slice of really good lemon, because you get the flavour of lemon without the tartness. to find a really good lemon buy a locally grown lemon if you can – one that’s grown organically in the sun & hasn’t been flown half way round the world in a cooler will taste a million times better. add a sweetener (artficial or a drop of honey or a spoonful of unrefined sugar) if you need to get used to the taste & then gradually decrease it until you can go without.
this works hot or cold & incidentally hot lemon & honey is a great sore throat soother.

i still need to remember to drink more water, but after only a few practice attempts i’ve developed a taste for peppermint tea. if you don’t like it at first, start with a sweetener, which you’ll then be able to go without quite quickly. even better, peppermint tea aids digestion (great after a meal instead of pudding), wakes you up in the morning & helps relieve feelings of nausea.
