Just got home... — 9 months ago
My son and I ran away for a four days. I know I mentioned I was planning everything. We flew from Chicago to Knoxville then we drove through the smokey mountains and did some gem hunting in Franklin, North Carolina. Our first day wasn’t as fruitful with the gems as the second day was. We found some sapphires, rubys, topaz, garnets, quartez and some emeralds too. But the drive up and over the mountain was beautiful and I had a blast driving it. If you have driven anywhere in Illinois you know it is very very flat. I am tried.. but am willing to say it was well worth it. YAY!!
