Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Surviving is always worth doing!!

not sure if the winter season was worth it. It was one of the worst ones in a very long time here in the midwest. But I am going to bed and when I wake up it will be spring!! Technically there could still be some snow storms (I know bite my tongue). I survived it. :/

More of the happy dance!!!

The dance of only one more day of WINTER!! Last weekend I saw crocuses blooming and someone had planted some pansies!!

Its melting!! Its melting!!

::happy happy dance:: Its melting!! Its melting!! ::more of the happy happy dance::

Another pic

this car hasn’t moved since the last beginning of last week!
Just glad I am not them, maybe they are in the Bahamas or somewhere warm and have to come home to the crap.

Winter Hell Update

Well not the 20 inches they predicted … but 14 is still up there. Here is the kids car with all the snow. This side is the protected side, not able to take a picture of the other side. Otherwise it would mean I would have to go out there. Yeck :P

From an email that is going around the office today.
I am in SNOW HELL AND I CAN NOT GET OUT!!! Nor will I be dragging my ass out of bed either!!!

I just got off a conference call with Wisconsin Emergency Management and the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting that Kenosha County is in line for some of the heaviest snowfall. Rusty Kapela of NWS stated that we may see thunder snow which means 2”-3” per hour and strong wind gusts of 25 – 35 mph. If we get the thunder snow, it looks like we may get up to 20” of snow in parts of Kenosha County. With strong wind gusts we may see near blizzard conditions in open, exposed areas.
We should see snow beginning to accumulate after 8 PM tonight but the bulk of the accumulating snow will be between 9 PM – 10 am tomorrow/Wednesday morning.

My area is in another snow storm… another 6 to 10 inches. :/

will it ever end?

WTF is going on!!

It hit record temps here the last two days, in the low 60s. Tonight on the way home there were 3 tornadoes that hit the area where I live. Thankfully there was no damage in my immediate area, but about 4-5 miles away there was some home damage.

More fricking snow out there. The kid and I went for dinner and it was coming down pretty good. The reports are that this has been on of the worst Decembers in a long time with some 17 inches of snow. Tonight its adding more, meaning that staying home for the new years celebration with my 43T friends and Dick Clark. So Happy New Years to those that have reach that time frame!!! Let’s hope for a snowless January!!!

BTW, have I mention I really dislike the white stuff?!

All I want to do is get through this winter season. I know I should be used to this snowy crap. I have lived in the Midwest all my life. But I hate this snow and cold. I can take one or the other, just finding it harder to like them both. :/
