explore the amazon

I travel a lot around Suriname, in and out of the jungle. I see crazy creatures (rhinobettels, jaguars, monkeys ect…) I eat strange things (Pirrahna, Iguana, Armadillo -which is very yummy). And I have spent quite a lot of time in the rainforest, which is part of the Amazon… but not in the river basin…

So does this count? I don’t know

Starting next week I will be living on the edge of the Amazon, in a small Ameridian village in Suriname. Honestly the jungle will start where my village is… I can only hope I can go in a lot.

I have had this on my 43 things for a long time now… it is so funny that I just got my Peace Corps invite, and it is to a country in the Amazon. I am going to Suriname, and 80% of the country is covered with tropical rainforest, an extension of the Amazon. I have been in the Darien before, and it totally rocked!
