The one unconsolidated higher interest loan I have will be paid off in December of this year. Then I only have the one left to deal with and I can keep the payments at the same level and be paying ahead.

This is automated, so it’s going along, but I won’t be able to pay ahead on it until the car loan and credit debt is gone.

They somehow managed to lose my app. to have my last loan bundled into my current autopay and then told me I was overdue. After a huge pain in the butt back and forth, they finally accepted the payment to bring it current, and then dinged me for more than we agreed. So I had to talk to my bank and explain why my being overdrawn was not my fault.Luckily, they waived the fee and I’m all caught up, but geeez.

Grrrr Sallie Mae 23 months ago

My last unconsolidated loan for a pretty small amount came due this month. In classic large corporate fashion, they ignored my request for electronic auto debit payment and put me as past due for it! When I tried to pay it, they reversed it and demanded I call them instead of email. So I had to call them, ask again and try to pay online again. Let’s hope that it went through this time and that they actually do as I ask.

My last loan comes due in December. It’s 1200, but they’ve put it at the bottom of the repayment schedule. It’s got higher interest than the rest. Figures.

Autopay 2 years ago

I just signed up for automatic debiting. This should make it much less of a hassle.

I just emailed Sallie Mae about changing my due date later in the month. Having this come due in the same pay period as my credit card is insanely difficult, budgetwise. Hoping they will do that this month.

And away we go! 2 years ago

Made my first payment yesterday.

And so it begins. 2 years ago

Got my first bill-due the 17th of next month.

I just emailed my lender about setting up a repayment plan for these. The sooner I get on them, the better. The email back from my school said that I deal with the lender directly now that I’ve graduated.
