move

I am well and safely moved, finally. It was too crazy and busy to write about it while I was doing it, and then Internet connectivity ended up being far more of a problem than anticipated. But now I am finally back and ready to work on goals again.

We got the place. It is 50.00 more a month, but the landlady wanted us badly enough to waive the cat deposit, and give us the keys without making us pay any rent until October! It’s beautiful and feels oh so welcoming inside. We’ve been packing and moving and decluttering along the way like fiends, and we finally are starting to see progress. I can’t wait to get in there for good. Some seriously hellish neighbors moved in a few months ago and I haven’t slept well since.

We went apartment hunting today. I am just about desperate enough to take the place around the corner that is more expensive and smaller, but quite nice and in a nonsketchy neighborhood. We looked through the windows and it has hardwood floors, a small but very pretty kitchen, and two bedrooms instead of the one I thought it was at first. This renders the asking price reasonable, and they take cats.

In any case, I left a message for them asking to see it. It’s another 50.00 a month, but it does seem quiet, and I guess I can wait for a house if I am managing to get some sleep in the meantime. We could stay in our neighborhood, but on the better end of it, and not be living in a dive.
