Dude. I just looked at my transcripts and realized that I’ve consistently done way better in non-science and -math courses that I’ve taken. =/ Like a whole point better. If I only compare those to the physics & math classes that are for my major, it narrows the gap by half a point, but still. That is ridiculous.
I’ve taken two of my four finals so far. I know I’m getting somewhere around a B in my politics class, which is okay. I know I’ll get at least B’s in my physics classes, but I want A’s. At least two would be nice. It’s not looking as likely now as I thought it was though =/ If I totally ace this final tomorrow I can get an A… and this professor I have for two of my classes curves sometimes, so we’ll see. I only need to get one A (assuming the rest are B’s) to raise my GPA. Or if I get all B+’s…
Sometimes I feel like I should re-take Chem II since that is the worst grade I have, but I don’t think I’d be likely to bring it up enough to make it worthwhile. It was a really hard and time-consuming class, and I’ll be having more hard physics classes every semester from here on out.
Aw man, even if I got a 4.0 this semeseter & the next three, the best I could graduate with would be a 3.52 :(

Alright, I can do this. I will get A’s this semeseter. No more excuses.

So grades for this semester have been posted online… I got a B+ in French, a B in my easier physics class, a B- in my harder physics class, an A- in my lab, and a B in my sociology class.
I am absolutely thrilled about the grade for my harder physics class, he must have curved it a ton becuase I had to get an A on the final to even get a C (and I don’t think I got an A on the final).
French and my easier physics class are both kind of shameful, I really should’ve gotten A’s. Soc is pretty much what I expected and I’m fine with that.
So that comes out to a 3.06 for this semester, for a cumulative GPA of 3.03. Alright, so it technically went up a little, but barely, and my GPA last semester was higher.
Next semester I have 3 physics classes and a politics class. One of the physics classes should be really easy (although, one of mine each of the last two semesters was too, and I still got B’s), one is going to be incredibly hard (like my harder one this semester… same teacher, but maybe I’ll end up with a surprise good grade at the end again), and the other is somewhere in the middle I think (but this is the one I’m most interested in, so…). No idea what the politics class is going to be like.

In the middle of finals right now… I don’t think I’m doing very well. =/

So they posted our grades for this semester on the internet. I got an A- in French, a B+ in History, a B- in Math, and a B in Physics, which is pretty much what I expected. So my GPA for the semester is a 3.16. I’m kind of disapointed in my physics grade, because that was the most important class to me but I just didn’t do like a third of the homework. I probably could have gotten at least a B+.
Averaged in with the last two semesters that makes my overall GPA a 3.02. So, better, but not by much.
Well, here’s hoping for that 3.5 next semester. I figured out that if I want to graduate with a B+ (3.33) average, I need to get around a 3.52 for the next 5 semesters. If I wanted a 3.5 overall, I’d need a 3.79 every semester.

Took my last final yesterday, now I just have to sit around and wait nervously for transcripts to get sent out.

I got a 3.35 my first semester and a 2.56 (!!!!) my second, so I now have an overall GPA of 2.95. I was disappointed with my GPA the first semester but by the end of the second semester I was so defeated (by one class in particular) that I didn’t even care. (Although, to be fair, I had indications in at least two classes that I was going to get a better grade than I did.)
Anyway, I’m aiming for somewhere in the neighborhood of a 3.5 this upcoming semester. I’m taking classes I really like and finally starting on some for my major and I just hope it’ll be a much better semester all around. Classes start in less than three weeks! I can see my French class probably being the biggest problem but we’ll see how it all goes. I am optimistic!
