I always have the goal of traveling but I think it’s good to have a tangible number.
So far:
1. The UK (July 2004)
2. Ireland (July 2004)
3. Greece (May 2008)
About 11 years left… obviously I didn’t get to travel a lot in high school other than the one trip, but I plan on making up for it in the next few years.
Other places I want to go:
Norway
Sweden
Finland
the Netherlands
Denmark
Spain
Portugal
France
Germany
Switzerland
Italy
Turkey
the Czech Republic
Slovakia
Hungary
the Ukraine
Russia
Morocco
Egypt
South Africa
Kenya
New Zealand
Australia
Brazil
Argentina
Peru
Canada
Iceland
Probably some more that I’m forgetting.
Plus I want to see a lot more of the US states.
It’s a shame I really have no interest in most of Asia because I hear it’s a lot cheaper than Europe. South America is cheap too though.
The next trip I take will probably either be to Italy, the Czech Republic/Slovakia/Hungary, Norway/Sweden/Finland, or Iceland.
I want to visit Italy in mid-January, between semesters (airfare is about half as expensive as during the summer, and also the weather is nice – 55°F) but I want to go with my boyfriend, and he can’t go this year, so January 2010 for that.
I don’t think I’m going to make it anywhere this summer – depending on if I’m doing a research program or just plain working – except maybe Canada. I’m thinking about visiting the south or the western coast of the United States instead.
I have a friend who said she’d visit the Czech Republic/Slovakia/Hungary with me (she is Slovakian so she’d be very helpful to travel with) but that would again not likely be this summer, maybe Summer 2010.
