get straight A's

I got a 3.35 for my first sememster overall. I’m hoping to do a little better next semester. We’ll see!

Western Civ: 96

Not very much change. Still annoyed on the 91 in english. But we have some more grades before the end of the quarter… one is a paper which I probably did badly on, but another is our notebook which I usually do well on (really though, a monkey could probably put papers in order in a binder).
My Western Civ grade is probably not accurate because he hasn’t put in like the last dozen grades. CW will probably go down a bit because I just turned in some less than stellar poems, and Chem should go up because we have notebooks due in there soon too and I always get a 99-100 on them.

Woo, got 100 on our test today in Chem so now I have a 95 in there :D And we’re halfway through the marking period now, and I have all A’s except for the 91 in english, which is only off by one point. Not too bad!

Darn homework assignments don’t count for anything in Chemistry – he put in like 4 100’s and my grade didn’t change. But there’s a test Friday, and hopefully I’ll do well on it.
English… english is always the problem. We’re on the Renaissance now though, and that’s kind of my strongpoint, so hopefully there’ll be some better grades there in the future for me.

So I marked this off after having all A’s at the end of last year, but of course I’d still like to get good grades, which is why I marked it for “I’d like to do this again.”
So here’s hoping for A’s this quarter! At the moment I have all A’s (except one), hopefully I can keep them there until… November 10 is the last day of the first quarter.

So… Chemistry needs to come up. I had a 153 in there, but then our teacher realized he entered something wrong XD At the end of the year I’ll get 3 extra points because it’s Honors, but I’d like to have an A each quarter without the extra points for Honors/AP classes.
Calc is right on the border, but I got a 100 on the last test, it was just the earlier ones I got bad grades on. So hopefully I’ll continue to get better grades. Math is usually my strongpoint.
English is usually an issue, but so far we haven’t been assigned any papers, which always bring my grade down, so it’s looking hopeful.
Band/choir, health, and german are always easy 100’s (or like 98-99 at worst). And Western Civ and Creative Writing are proving to be pretty easy too.

So… I’m thinking I should go do my Calc homework then, ey?

Exams Friday…
I discovered that my grade in English is high enough that as long as I get a C (78+, although actually I could get a 75) I’ll still have an A for the year. I got a B (85) on the last one so as long as I do at least that well – and we covered quite a bit less material in the second semester than the first – I’ll be fine. I have a 99 in there for this quarter O_O My teacher is pregnant and lazy, and got sick of grading things. I got a paper back from her with no makrs on it at all and a 100 written on the top. It looks like she didn’t even read it (previous papers have gotten 75’s). ...Yeah.
I did fine on all the exams in my other classes last time so I should do just as well this time.
The only thing is I still have a B (90) in art right now because I have 5 sketch assignments I’ve yet to turn in… Or even begin =/ I should get on that.

The year is almost over! I’m pretty confident I’ll have all A’s. It’ll be nice, because the past two years I’ve had a B or two… not bad, but there’s really no reason for that because the classes at my school are all ridiculously easy.

So I got my report card for the third quarter today and I got all A’s, which I figured on. I’ll probably get all A’s for the fourth quarter, but what I’m worried about is final exams – mid-terms brought some of my grades down for the semester grade when they were averaged in with my quarter grades. I’m particularly concerned with english, because for the first semester I got a 91 (B) and I’d like to have an A for the year, so for the second semester I’ll need a 93 for it to average out to a 92 (A). I got a 92 and a 93 for the first two quarters and then an 85 for the exam (exams are worth half as much as each quarter). I got a 95 for the third quarter so if I get an 85 on the exam again, I need a 94 for the 4th quarter. Hopefully though, I won’t get an 85 again on the exam, but I think I can pull of a 94. I have a 98 in there so far, but it’s only been a week and there are like 2 grades entered.

It looks like I’m going to get all A’s for the third quarter (which ended Friday); I got all A’s for the second quarter, and all A’s and one B (missed by a point!) in the second quarter. But even though my first & second quarter grades were good, I didn’t do well on midterms in some classes so then my first semester grades weren’t all A’s (got a B in english, missed by one point again). So I’m hoping to get all A’s in the fourth quarter and do well enough on my finals to have all A’s for the year :) That would make me very happy. It hasn’t happened in awhile, I tend to get B’s in English (actually, I just barely had a B for the past year – as in, I almost got a C) and sometimes Social Studies.
