Make a special effort to be nicer to my family...

My husband and son are backpacking this weekend. I took my two beautiful daughters out to dinner last night. We laughted, talked, and shopped! What a wonderful evening we had. I’m so glas we were able to this before my oldest leaves for college in 3 weeks. :)

They are sleeping in and going to school late.

She stayed up late last night finishing homework for her college classes. I am cleaning the kitchen for her. I know it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, but if you ssk her, it really is.

It seems as if they are making special efforts to be nice to me! I love them!

All my sick ones are sleeping right now. I hope they get good rest!

Ok, this is proabably nicer to me than them. I really love my quiet mornings, but they will like it too.

Last night, I came home from work, made dinner and served everyone. I usually love doing this, but for some reason, I felt very resentful while I was doing all of it. I need to have more of a servant’s heart.

Today, my middle child turns 17! How time does fly! I am so proud of who he is and the man he wants to be! Tonight, pizza and cake, just as he requested!

I made peace with being ok to be angry with them, and I made peace with my kids. We had a better morning than last night. :)

I really try, I do what I can to help my husband and my kids, but sometimes I forget the art of giving. To give with love and expect nothing in return. Sometimes, I feel taken advantage of, or underappreciated, or even that they don’t take me into consideration at all and it hurts and I get mad. I wish I could just let things like that go.
