It was very well-directed and scripted movie that was extremely thought-provoking. Wiesler was a very touching and compelling example of complete, selfless servitude towards others by not only saving Georg Dreyman’s life, but also taking no credit for it; as a consequence of his actions, he was demoted from a high-ranking position and comfortable life to a very mundane job afterwards and even after the wall fell down.

Not as good as expected considering it being #56 on IMDB and praised by friends. I didn’t really connect with it or see exactly why it was good besides the cinematography. The whole magic realism thing just doesn’t touch me.
