I hand delivered the application to the IIE office two days ago and submitted my online application as well. This is the longest, most arduous process and it’s not for the weak. It took one year of meetings, planning and serious effort to complete this process.
I’m so grateful to my on-campus adviser, my future adviser in Lisbon as well as all my recommenders.
Thank God!

I’ve already received an email from the professor in Portugal about working with me. He’s on board and wants to know what else he can do to assist me in my application! What an awesome thing. I feel more prepared for this application than when I attempted a few years ago and I believe God is working everything out in my favor.

I just got a response from the Chair of the Informatics department (at a world renowned research unit). He’d like me to work on a project with him if I get the Fulbright. I can’t breathe!!!!!

I’ve taken the leap and emailed professors at 2 separate universities requesting to work with them if given the opportunity. That’s one more thing off my checklist.

So, Linens and Things is going out of business and I got an international converter for a good price. I’ll need one when I’m doing my Fulbright abroad, right? ;)

After emails to 8 college officials (despite an adviser being listed on the Fulbright website), I was finally able to find someone to help me on my process. He’s new to the process so will be getting training on my account. I’m nervous about being a guinea pig but excited by the whole thing.
I’m narrowing down a topic and working with a specialist in the field to help me find resources and hopefully people. Will be reaching out to recommenders in the spring. Just heard from my college professor who’s been incognito!
