So, I went to the gym dark and early today. I can definitely tell a difference in my strength from even a month ago. I guess it is really a long time to do pretty much nothing except 16 oz bicep curls and lateral cheesecake pumps.
But I did a pretty satisfying lift session followed by a not-so-stellar “run”. Hmmmm, it really is true about losing up to 75% of your cardio endurance in only 7 days…..it has been about 3 times that since I laced up the old kicks for a spin. Baby steps. At least I went period.

Well, in 2007 I got into killer shape via a trainer, a lot of hard work, and a healthy diet. I left Florida for Hawaii and soon after joined the Army. Since I came in I have gained about 20 pounds! It is crazy to look at myself and see all that I have lost….as in definition and tone, knowing how hard I worked. I aspired to be a trainer before I joined so at least I have the advantage of getting myself back in shape. It is just getting the initial motivation to actually GO to the gym, lift, run…but I am ready. Enough is enough. I have allowed myself to just be lazy. I am currently 5’6” and about 150 lbs. My goal is to be back around 130-135 by March 14, so I can accomplish another goal of mine….run the Gate River Run 15K.
