I need to get a small notebook to jot ideas. I have plenty of notebooks, but I need to find the one I want to use and start using it. I need to start keeping up with all my ideas and then later picking an idea and working on it when I’m bored and wanting to shoot.
Did some cityscape work which might lead to getting paid recently. Otherwise I’m still having lots of fun shooting with my holga lens modified to work on my XTi.

Self portraits making use of both reflections and tripod remote shutter release techniques.
I never really have liked many photos of myself, but I like self portraits that other people take of themselves and should really explore some of the more creative compositions to find some that would please me of me.

trees around the neighborhood. I think I should do a photo essay of trees from around. It’s an idea inspired by a book which I’ve not read called Trees I’ve Known. At least that’s what I remember the title to be, but now that I’ve searched google and amazon for the book I can’t seem to find anything by that name. It seems I remember reading about it in the catalog “A Common Reader”. So I went looking for it and I find out from wikipedia that A Common Reader died about a year ago. This is very distressing. Did you ever read their catalog? Oh, it was wonderful. It was the best catalog I’ve ever come across. It was fantastically simple in it’s rag paper and monochromatic photos, but the book descriptions were beyond anything I’ve ever seen. The descriptions would make me yearn for learned tomes about things such as Latin, or beautiful trees.
So it seems like this tree book was a collection of photographs of interesting trees the photographer met and that the photographs promised somehow to capture the personality of the individual tree.
Another great book that I did get from Common Reader was “Tiny Houses: Or how to get away from it all” by Lester Walker ( http://www.amazon.com/Tiny-Houses-How-Get-Away/dp/0879512717 ).
Anyways, if you’ve read Common Reader or know the title of the tree book, or if you’re in love with the idea of a Tiny House then leave a comment.

Journalistic or documentary. I also need to do some work on really understanding exposure and get the skills to set my aperture and shutter all on my own. And I want to do some downtown night work (more with the exposure lessons).
