Be a great dad

My 2 oldest kids have a program at their school called “Watchdog Dads” where dads come to the school to help out the students. I signed up for it this year, and I’m pleasantly surprised that the turnout was great!

It’s good to see so many dads that are excited about their child’s education.

I took my daughter out on a boat this past holiday weekend. I never rowed a boat before but after a few minutes of going around in circles I figured it out.

It was me, my wife, and my kids out on this rowboat at first but it ended up being just me and my 5 year old daughter with the rest of the family watching from the dock.

My daughter has the cutest little barbie fishing pole (no, I wouldn’t use it – she just looks really cute with it!). We were fishing for about an hour when finally she got a bite on her line. The fish strikes, she fights it with all of her might and nets it! The fish was barely larger than a minnow, but in her triumph she yells – “Daddy!!! I caught a fish! I caught a fish!!!”. We took some really cute pictures before she set the fish free.

When we get old, our looks go, our health goes, and for many of us, our money goes. It’s not what we do for ourselves that matters, but what we do to build strong relationships with those around us.

I have 3 beautiful little girls and I want to be the best dad that I can be. I want us to have the best possible relationship and make sure that all 3 of them grow up to be secure, strong, and safe.
