open a Roth IRA

I had planned on doing this for my birthday, but that has come and gone. I think it may have to wait until next year, just so I can have an easier time of it. I still need to buy a new car, as well as several lesser purchases. Before fall 2010 then? Or my next bday?

I’m getting to the point where I might actually be able to put something away, but I’m having doubts. Mostly I’m worried about it disqualifying me for financial aid… Am I being silly? It is something I would like to do before I finish college.
