I can’t get into the specifics of the conversation but I actually came right out and told someone the full truth recently.
I’m not sure if its just my reaction to this person in particular or a change in my general non-trusting attitude but it was an odd feeling. I’m inclined to believe it’s him because I still feel disinclined to come anywhere near disclosing my deeply personal thoughts with most other people.

Yet, the ultimate test [my weakness] hasn’t really come up over the past year.
If/When I am approached, though it may be hard, I will give an honest answer as to whether or not I’m interested in someone.

Started chatting with a guy and he seems nice. Waiting to see how it goes down. So far, I haven’t clammed up and pretended a lack of interest but that could very well be due to his relaxing personality.

I now tell people the truth. It’s still a daily process but I have been doing it completely. Mind you, I haven’t yet been met with the ‘challenge’ of someone approaching me romantically. Since that’s usually the weakness I have regarding lying, only time and experience will tell.

A few years ago, I made it my resolution to be sure to tell the truth. Ironically, I’ve kept up with it for the most part. The only time I have problems is when it deals with relationship confrontations.
Say I like someone and they pretty much pick up on the fact that I like them. I’ll go into immediate denial mode almost before I have a chance to blink. On examining the possibilities, I’m thinking that it might be due to a fear of rejection or, even more odd, a fear of acceptance. O.o
