get a passport

Until recently, I hadn’t even thought about this as even a back burner issue.

Recently, things have changed and my need for this item has risen significantly. I managed to [with surprisingly little difficulty] get the data on my birth certificate corrected and now all I have to do is get the updated certificate, update my ID, find the money to pay for the passport, and apply.

Here’s to determination.

With bills mounting and a lack of resources to buy even basic foods, this is honestly one of the last things on my mind. I know for certain that I won’t be able to fulfill it within the next two days (as of 16 May 2008 w/ a due date of 20 May), so I’ll just reset it once it runs out.

I think I’ll make my punishment have more to do with the Knights who say ‘Ni!’ this time though…

The clock is really ticking on this one. According to the blurb, I’ve only got sixteen days to fulfill this one. I know that there’s no real personal consequence beyond letting myself down but still, I don’t like the idea of doing that. I’ve been working hard to be more effective in succeeding when it comes to my goals and this particular thing is something I’ve really dedicated myself to.

Even so, I know that I couldn’t have foreseen, nor helped, a number of factors including:

1. The economy tanking.
2. My financial resources tanking.
3. So many bills mounting up at once.

I’m not letting this get me down regardless. If, at the end of this sixteen days, I still haven’t managed to at least put the paperwork in, then I’ll just restart the goal. It’s not the end of the world or anything.

Who’d have thought it would have come to this? I’m still holding out for the Deus ex Machina to kick in and save my po’ behind. I’ve been doing a lot to get money but it’s been going right back out in the form of bill payments and buying luxuries like food and sundry necessities.

Somehow, some way, I will get this done.

I am seriously interested in going to Canada. I have a friend up there…well, three friends actually, that I’d really love to meet. The closest one to me lives in Quebec, hence my focusing on him. The others live out west and its going to take more time to save so I can visit them. I will have this passport before the end of this goal. 100 days and counting down.

Everytime I’m in the process of getting a passport, some darn thing eats my money up. I got nearly $1,000.00USD at one point and three bills popped up out of nowhere and swallowed it all up before I even had a chance to breathe on the application.

I’m still determined though. This thing will be mine!

As soon as I pay off the bloodsucking leech…I mean credit card. I’m going to go for it and get my Passport.

I heard that NBC travel guy talking about this a few weeks ago and I fully intend to get my passport before the deadline for passports being required to leave and enter the country by air. I’ve wanted to have it for a while now and would rather get it while it’s easy to get.
